Top 10 Fuel Efficient Cars in Australia (Part 2)

The Top 10 Fuel Efficient Cars in Australia continued. Presenting the top 5 fuel efficient cars.

Read about the cars that ranks between 10 and 6.

5. Citroen C3

Citroen C3

Similar to the Ford Ka the Citroen C3 has to be the ugliest looking car in the world. But despite looking like the back end of a hippo it continues to win awards for being one of the best small medium cars available. It's reasonably priced at around $20,000 and the 4.4L per 100 Km can't be sniffed at either.

4. Toyota Yaris

Toyota Yaris

My father in law always says that you can't go wrong with a Toyota, and now that I own one I would have to agree. The Toyota Yaris will only cost around $18,000. This along with its excellent fuel efficiency makes it one of the top Australian energy efficient cars.

3. Fiat Punto

Fiat Punto

The Fiat Punto is seen as Italy's sexiest small car. I have to admit it looks pretty swish and is perfect for the young mum who still likes to look a little bit classy. It will cost you around $20,000 and as far as being green you can't get much better than a green house rating of 8 and air pollution rating of 8.5.

2. Fiat 500

Fiat 500

If there is one thing that could be said about this car it's that you're not likely to see teenagers doing doughnuts with smoke streaming from the wheels. It's has a tiny little 1.2L engine and is becoming very popular throughout Europe because of its amazing fuel efficiency.

1. Toyota Prius

Toyota Prius

The Toyota Prius is the king of kings when it comes to environmentally friendly cars. This 1.5L 4CYL does 100Km on just 4.4L of fuel that is 50% lower that most cars in the same class. It also has high greenhouse and air pollution ratings both at 8.5 all at a great price of just $25,000.
