Great Vegetarian/Vegan Recipes

The term vegetarian generally refers to people who do not consume animal products such as meat, fish or poultry. Among the vegetarians few use egg and its products while others consume dairy products. Veganism is a type of vegetarian diet that excludes meat, eggs, dairy products and all other animal-derived ingredients. Most Vegans also avoid foods that are processed using animal products, such as refined white sugar. To make your transformation successful in becoming vegetarian or vegan, you can use certain techniques.

Try to replace meat in your diet with vegetable substitutes and experiment with new products available at food stores. For example if you want to stop using dairy products, soy milk is a better alternative. Also try out different recipes by changing the seasonings or the spices used. Seek out vegetarian or vegan food recipes from other countries through internet and books.

Though the list of vegetarian or vegan foods are plenty, the following items have been selected for their fabulous taste as well as their versatility and convenience in cooking.

You can consume lots of nut, bean, grain, fruit and vegetable.

There are more foods made with vegetable-based ingredients that mimic the textures and flavors of foods made with diary products. For example, the vegan cheese and the usual cheese taste the same. Try to freeze bananas and mash them up to make a substitute for ice cream.

Because more and more people are switching to a vegetarian or vegan diet, these foods can be easily found in any supermarket.
